Brenna Foley, M.A.

TRANSPERSONAL COUNSELING-COACHING

I specialize in working with new adults and adolescents (ages 15-27), however I am happy to work with adults of all ages.

Many normal human processes have been categorized as “disorders” by the Clinical Mental Health industrial complex. My work is to accept and move with the “highs” and “lows” of the human experience, allowing the cycles and flows of life to move uninhibited through our systems.

I work through a personal method combining Transpersonal Counseling, Energy Skills, and Coaching.

BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY TOWARDS SELF-LIBERATION

NO ONE ELSE CAN DEFINE YOUR PATH AND PURPOSE - BREAK OLD & OUTDATED PARADIGMS - EMBRACE CHANGE AND LIBERATION - FIND YOUR OWN PERSONAL PASSION

FIND FREEDOM FROM HOPELESSNESS

I have been creating opportunities for expression, expansion, and growth for approximately 8 years as a teacher, counselor, and lightworker. I believe in the full spectrum of human experience. I lean into the dark, fearful part. I lean into the bright and effusive joy. I seek to create right relationships with everyone I meet and to be impeccable in my word.

I received my Masters in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in 2023 with a focus in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mindfulness. I have be blessed to have powerful mentors in energy work and mindfulness throughout my adult life who have provided the foundation for the energy skills I use & teach now. I am also a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and a facilitator of open-floor dance movement. I have been personally practicing Mindfulness since 2014. I love all things transpersonal and absolutely love the work I do.

About Brenna

ABOUT MY OFFERINGS

  • My offerings for individual support includes: transpersonal counseling, energetic skills building, and/or coaching. I prefer to collaborate on the perfect blend of these approaches that appropriate for each client. For individuals who are looking to explore/expand their understanding of energy or their intuition, this combination of energy work and counseling is a perfect balance.

My transpersonal counseling frame is influenced by my training in the following modalities: gestalt therapy, internal family systems, somatic experiencing, inner child work, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness. My energy work is influenced by my experience with mindfulness, laughter yoga, and training with powerful intuitive teachers.

Our sessions will be regulating, experiential, and experimental. I believe we are collaborators on this journey of growth and that your own knowledge, intuition, and information informs the direction of the session even more so than mine does. I strive to create a non-hierarchical healing space as much as possible while still acknowledging privilege, marginalization, and personal experience. I strive to create empowerment for all my clients.

For Adolescents: For adolescents, I’ve found the best approach is coaching/mentoring with fundamental energetic skills building (internal/emotional awareness, body scans, grounding, etc.)

  • I specialize in working with new adults and adolescents (ages 15-25), however I am happy to work with adults of all ages. In particular, my work is especially beneficial for those going through life changes or personal transitions. My work is often especially helpful and oriented to support the following experiences:

    • Feeling a lack of meaning in life

    • Existential doubt or dread

    • Depression or lack of motivation

    • Isolation or Feeling isolated

    • Longing to connect to the larger world or some form of personal spirituality

    • Experience of abuse or toxicity in personal relationships

    • History of suicidality or thoughts of death

I specialize in working with the “lows” of the human experience which can include hopelessness, depression, loss, shame, lack of motivation, feeling misunderstood, feeling “broken”, etc.

We are systemically made to feel “less than” and those who point out the flaws in the system are often gaslit or made to feel that the problem arises from them alone. I will not continue that pattern. I believe hopelessness, dread, and doubt are pivotal parts of the human experience and can be opportunities for transformation and liberation.

  • My goal is to tailor my support to best match the needs and the interests of my clients. In our first session, we will discuss your needs, challenges, and interest in intuitive energy practices. Based on your need, our session will likely include traditional coaching components such as learning skills, co-regulation, processing dynamics in your life, and compassionate self-inquiry. I often bring mindfulness and visualization practices to all my clients because of the immense personal and psychological benefits.

Foundational energetic skills that could be brought into session include: grounding, setting boundaries, cutting cords, and connecting to a larger ‘source’. For those who are interested, dynamic energetic tools that could be used as part of a session would include: clearing blocks, accessing source, clearing entities, and inquiry into ancestral and past life entanglements. These skills and tools will always be used at my discretion and with an orientation towards capacity and safety.

  • My session rate is $125 for 70 minutes (compared to the traditional 52 minutes).

    Sliding Scale:

It’s important to me that folks from a variety of life circumstances can access therapeutic services. With this in mind, I offer my services on a sliding scale.

The number listed above are the true cost of my services. Consider paying this amount if you own the home you live in, have paid or pay for private education, travel recreationally, have investments, have inherited wealth, and/or have increased earning privilege due to your race, gender, or education.

Inquire about lower rates on a sliding scale to find a number that would be an investment, but not create hardship for your household. You might choose this option if you have significant debt, little or no access to savings, and could not otherwise afford my services.
